Weston McKennie has revealed a hysterical Cristiano Ronaldo story from the pair’s days at Juventus together, with the American midfielder set to embark on a new adventure at Leeds United.
McKennie and Ronaldo spent two seasons as teammates together from 2020-22, and the two seemed to strike up a lighthearted relationship as Ronaldo affectionately called him ‘Texas Boy.’
And the USA midfielder has now revealed another example of he and his ex-teammate’s humorous rapport.
‘He was getting a massage and I was walking by and said, ‘oh my gosh, your feet look terrible,” he recounted before being presented at Leeds.
‘He said, ‘Friend, these feet are worth 1 billion euros.’
‘I said, ‘you right, respect.”
While the striker’s valuation may have been off, there actually was some truth to his tongue-in-cheek comment.
As Sportsmail wrote about way back in 2009, Real Madrid insured his legs for $111m after a knee injury scare to their star man.
McKennie’s days of being Ronaldo’s teammate are over but he should have plenty of laughs with USA teammate and longtime friend Tyler Adams, who has been at Leeds since last summer.
Americans Brenden Aaronson and manager Jesse Marsch are also at the club, who will hope the talented No. 8 can help them stave off relegation.
Leeds struck an agreement for a loan with an option to pay $37m for McKennie, 24, earlier this week. He will take the No 28 shirt.
The deal also a includes a $1.6m loan fee.
Leeds, in 15th place, are just one point above the relegation zone and are winless in their last six Premier League matches.

Carlo Ancelotti has hinted his Real Madrid players wouldn’t even consider the chance to join Cristiano Ronaldo in Saudi Arabia.
The Real Madrid boss was speaking after Al-Nassr were linked with audacious approaches for two of Ronaldo’s ex-teammates, Karim Benzema and Luka Modric. The Saudi giants are still basking in the limelight afforded to them by Ronaldo’s stunning move at the end of last year.
Modric, 37, and Benzema, 35, are the latest European superstars to be linked with a move to Al-Nassr, but Ancelotti has made it clear he feels that Real Madrid legends should retire at the Bernabeu. And the Italian went as far to suggest he didn’t even think they would broach the subject with him.
“I don’t think Benzema or Modric are going to come to my office, because I don’t think they need my advice.,” Ancelotti said. “The legends of Madrid have to stay in Madrid, and retire here. That’s what I think and we’re talking about two legends.”
Ronaldo is certainly in the bracket when it comes to Los Blancos greats, having won every major honour – including five Champions Leagues – and scoring a record 450 goals in 438 games for the club.
