Gina Carano, famous for her action movies, recently spilled some beans about her time shooting Fast and Furious with Dwayne Johnson. She didn’t hold back, telling it like it is, and Hollywood’s buzzing about it. She basically said things weren’t all rosy behind the scenes.
It’s got folks wondering what really happened on set. Fans and industry folks are scratching their heads over this. People are starting to feel sorry for Carano and wondering what really goes on in those big movie productions. It seems like there’s more to Fast and Furious than just fast cars and cool stunts.
What Did Gina Carano Say About Fast And Furious?
Gina Carano’s been causing a stir lately with her talk about the Fast and Furious movies. Fans are all ears after she hinted at some surprising stuff about her time working alongside Dwayne Johnson and others in the blockbuster series.
You might know Carano from her MMA days, where she kicked b*tts and took names. She was a real force to be reckoned with, winning seven out of her eight matches. Hollywood soon caught wind of her talent, and she got her big break in the movie Haywire.
After that, she found herself on the set of Fast & Furious 6 with Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson. But Carano felt like a fish out of water. While she was used to working with A-list actors, the Fast & Furious vibe was all about muscles, baby oil, and attitude problems.
She felt isolated like nobody had her back. She told The Hollywood Reporter,
“It was absolutely ridiculous. It was really strange going from a set filled with these out-of-this-world genius actors. And then I go to Fast & Furious 6 and it’s a whole different vibe of muscles and attitude problems. Everybody’s got a mental health coach, a cook, a trainer. Each person had like six people around them and I’m just sitting alone.”
Everyone had their entourage, but the 41-year-old was left to fend for herself. And it’s not just her feeling isolated. There’s been some tension brewing between the 51-year-old and Diesel as well.
Reports say they clashed behind the scenes, with Johnson getting fed up with Diesel’s behavior on set. On the other hand, The Rock was always showing up late, causing delays and being rude to people. As per People, the insider revealed,
“Tension has been building up for months… having problems with The Rock because The Rock keep showing up late for production.”
One report (TMZ) even claimed the two argued about who got more screen time! There was more drama off-camera than on. This could’ve affected other actors, too, including Carano.
Her words have definitely made the Fast and Furious story even more interesting. Add to that, she’s also opened up about her exit from The Mandalorian.
Gina Carano Speaks Out About Mandalorian Dismissal
Carano, known for playing Cara Dune in The Mandalorian, has finally spoken up about getting axed from the show. It’s been over three years since she got the boot, and now she’s talking about her dismissal and the lawsuit she filed against Disney and Lucasfilm.
The actress got the boot in February 2021 after stirring up controversy on social media. She was accused of being anti-trans, racist, and anti-mask, among other things. Her posts didn’t sit well with Lucasfilm, who called them “abhorrent and unacceptable” and decided to cut ties with her.
In the same interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Carano opened up about how devastated she was when she found out she was fired.
“I curled into a fetal position. It’s not that I didn’t think that something like that could happen. It was that I couldn’t imagine they would put out this horrendous statement about me after working with me, the most powerful entertainment company in the world saying that about me.”
She’s now taking legal action against Disney and Lucasfilm, with Elon Musk backing her up financially.
With Carano speaking out, the conversation around The Mandalorian and its cast just got a whole lot more controversial.
